WEDDING FAQ
Do you offer larger wedding options for more than 100 people?
Yes.
Can the reception end later than 9pm?
All private events must conclude by 9pm. We allow an additional hour until 10pm for clean up.
Will we have the exclusive use of the property?
The Tasting Room is open to the public year round. However, we only book one private event at a time. On Saturday evenings, we do have live music from 5pm to 8pm next to the Tasting Room. This shouldn't interfere with evening private events that are located at the top of the vineyard.
Can we have a band at the reception?
Yes, we allow plugged in acoustic bands and acoustic musicians and vocalists. We do not allow DJ's or extremely loud bands. We have a noise ordinance for the township. Hackett Wine has full control over all sound levels at private events.
How far in advance should I book my date?
We book weddings about 12 months in advance, but no earlier. We recommend booking your date as soon as possible.
What do you require to hold a date?
At least a 25% deposit is due when the contract is signed. The remaining venue balance, except for the bar tab, is due 30 days prior to the wedding.
Do you allow outside alcohol?
We only allow Hackett Wine wine and beer provided by Hackett Wine to be served. Alcohol must be served by a PLCB RAMP licensed and certified professional, which is provided by Hackett Wine. Liquor is not allowed.
Can we take pictures anywhere on the property?
Pictures around the property are allowed but pictures in the winemaking facility and Tasting Room are not allowed.
Can we use our own vendors/caterers?
Yes, provided they are insured/licensed. We do have a recommended list of vendors, but you are not required to use them.
Do you have a backup for rain?
Our rain plan includes the use of the tent, which is included in all weddings and receptions, except for wedding ceremonies only. If it were to be cold and/or raining, we recommend renting tent heaters and side walls for the tent.
What is a price per case of wine and is there a minimum?
A case of wine can vary from $200 - $400 per case and wines can be mixed and matched to create a case of wine (12 bottles). We have a wine minimum of one case. We offer a 10% discount on all wine that is purchased when 12 or more bottles are purchased for the wedding.
Do I need event insurance?
We highly recommend the purchase of a one-day event liability and property damage policy of $1,000,000 per occurrence. These policies can be secured online within a few minutes, are very reasonably priced, and will cover losses from personal or property damages. We recommend getting the policy from www.theeventhelper.com, www.wedsafe.com, or from your personal insurance agent.
Do I need to hire an event planner or day of coordinator?
We highly recommend it! Hiring someone to coordinate the day will make your day stress free and allow you to spend time with your friends and family. An onsite staff member from Hackett Wine will be on the property during your event to answer questions about the space and oversee the operations, but he/she will not be responsible for setting up and coordinating your event.
What exactly does the onsite staff member do?
The Event Staff Manager on site during the day will be making sure that everything is working properly and the restrooms are stocked with needed items, wine is delivered as well as all other miscellaneous needs and tasks that come up throughout the day. Their first priority is to maintain the tent and property and then all the additional tasks for your wedding set up, duration and break down. They are also available to bartend the Reception.
How much are bartender fees?
We staff 1 bartender for every 50 guests. The onsite staff member can be a bartender when the ceremony ends for no additional fee. The additional bartender is $30 an hour starting the hour before the ceremony is to start until 9pm.
Who is responsible for the event setup?
The Hackett Wine team will set up the tent for the reception, bar, and tables and chairs for the reception how you would like. We will also set up the ceremony chairs. All other decor items brought are the responsibility of the Wedding Party.
What are we responsible for regarding cleanup?
We expect all decorations including any flower petals, spills, food brought in throughout the day, items brought in while getting ready, etc. to be thrown away or picked up in a car after the event is over. General cleaning and tidying up should be done. Our staff is responsible for taking out the trash in the bathrooms, and the general trash in the area. Your caterer is responsible for taking out their buffet trash. Hackett Wine staff will also take care of the tables, chairs, and tent. It should look relatively like it did when you arrived.
